Welcome to my blog, a space where I share my musings, insights, and experiences as a film composer. As someone who begins each workday with listening to music, I’ve discovered the profound effect that writing has on my thought process, sparking creativity and inspiration for my craft. In this blog, I invite you to join me on a journey of self-discovery, reflection, and connection, as we explore the powerful role that sharing ideas can play in our lives.

Writing, like listening to music, is a simple thing that can take us to a different time, place, or feeling. As a film composer, I’ve found that this trait helps me get in touch with my inner source of creativity. Writing, like composing, is a way to get these thoughts and ideas out of your head and give them shape and form. By writing about my ideas and opinions in this blog, I not only exercise the creative muscles I need for my job, but I also keep a written record of my journey and my experiences.

When I listen to music and think about different things, I typically think about recent movies I’ve seen, form opinions about current events, or contemplate the ins and outs of pursuing a career in the arts. The content on this site is mostly about these things, and each post gives you my opinion and a look into my life as a working composer. I hope that by writing about my thoughts and experiences, this blog will become a place where people with similar interests or who are just curious about the creative process can find inspiration, encouragement, and connections.

The act of writing is the act of discovering what you believe.

As a non-native English speaker, this blog also serves as an invaluable tool for honing my communication skills in a foreign language. Sharing my thoughts and experiences in English pushes me to expand my vocabulary, refine my grammar, and sharpen my overall linguistic proficiency. Even in French, my first language, I’ve never thought of myself as good with words.

The power of writing is truly remarkable. It lets us keep track of our ideas, get to the heart of them, and share them with a larger audience. By writing and sharing my thoughts, I can connect with more people than I could if I just talked about these things with my friends. This blog gives me a place to talk to people who share my interests, fostering a sense of community and collaboration that goes beyond location and personal limits. Don’t hesitate to say hi and share your thoughts in return! I really enjoy a good conversation.
